The “Art at war” panel is devoted to Ukrainian art that has to face a completely new reality during the war. The perspective of the future for female and male Ukrainians is marked with ruin and the need to rebuild, an aggressive deconstruction of the existing, the search of hope and support for the act of creation.

What art will be like after all of this, will also depend on many future events. We can only be sure that Ukrainian art will still be created and it will play a big role in the decolonisation of Ukrainian culture and the reconstruction of the country.

In the panel, there will be creators of Ukrainian art that still live and work in the Ukraine, those who were forced to move abroad, and those who changed their artistic professions for military service. We will look into the current artistic process and we will try to imagine the perspective of the future through their works and statements.
